Fascinating (if peculiar) YouTube tour of the Chancellor Hotel’s Elevators?

The Chancellor Hotel (built in 1914) is home to our San Francisco Magic Parlor. As you can see at the start of this YouTube video we’re in the heart of everything in downtown San Francisco.

This video is also a tour of the elevator system in the hotel filmed by a young elevator aficionado and expert (really!)

The Chancellor is historic in that it was build for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. It was then the tallest building in the city, and is still family owned almost a century later. (You’ll be relieved to know that the elevators are significantly newer.)

The video did not catch the Magic Parlor’s  theatre (maybe because it does not travel up and down) maybe next time.

We’re extremely proud to be associated with this TripAdvisor Top-Rated boutique hotel …and hope it will be our home for a long time to come.

Have a happy ride!

The ANSWER to Contest #17

Two couples guessed correctly and were our guests at the Parlor!

Our Trivia Question #17 was…

“There is a row of century old eucalyptus (gum) trees on Octavia Street at Bush WHO planted those trees?”

The Answer is…

Mary Ellen “Mammy” Pleasant. She planted gum trees up and down the street along her huge and ominous mansion. Well over 100 years later only these few remain.

You can hear the Mary Pleasant saga when you visit the San Francisco Magic Parlor theatre.

Watch for our next Trivia Contest and you can win FREE seats to that weekend’s performance.

You’ll experience Theatrical Magic from a new perspective!

Performing in a live, long-run, show is so really cool… and daunting!

No night is even slightly similar in the San Francisco Magic Parlor theatre. Different reactions, laughs, applause. Whether adjusting our style for only a few guests or a theatre that’s overfilled.

Last night we had a lot of last minute walk-ins and special Chancellor Hotel guests… they were there to party and have a great time. I was overwhelmed with their exuberant responses, involvement and participation.

Great way to cap off our 24th week a the Chancellor.

No matter how you look at it
…it’s entertaining…
