Purported to be the first to produce a rabbit from his
top hat, Scottish Conjurer, Professor John Henry Anderson (dubbed by Sir Walter
Scott “The Great Wizard of the North”) Performed for Queen Victoria in 1849. He
enjoyed a successful engagement at Covent Gardens in 1855.
On a return visit to London in 1858 he resided with the
Charles Dickens family over the Holidays. Professor Anderson shared a few of
his assorted Wonders for party guests on that Christmas Eve.
