1869 San Francisco and the Silver Rush claims to Fame!



Hear our newest magical tale at the San Francisco Magic Parlor unfold this January!

What do the Old San Francisco Mint, the Cable Car, the discovery of Silver, the Transcontinental Railroad, and Nob Hill have in common?

This photo depicts the 1869 Celebration at the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in downtown San Francisco.

Starting with the Comstock Lode Silver Strike, leading to the "Big Four’s" Central Pacific Railroad connecting to the coast-to-coast rail lines, Mark Hopkins, Leland Stanford, Charles Crocker, and Collis Huntington because ridiculously wealthy and built a kingdom on Nob Hill.
